Why I'm Running

On October 13, 2024, I will be representing Advocate Health Care as a member of the charity running team at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of the charity running team, I will be training, fundraising, and ultimately running 26.2 miles to benefit patients and families in need.

I am excited to share with you a personal challenge and a heartfelt cause I am embarking on. This year, I will be running a full marathon as a member of Team Advocate, supporting Advocate Health Care. This decision stems from not just a desire to push my physical limits, but also from a profound realization and commitment towards improving healthcare.

Working at Astrana Health (fka Apollomed)  has been a transformative experience for me. It's opened my eyes to the intricacies and challenges in the healthcare industry. I've learned about the immense value of quality care and the significant difference it makes in people's lives. My experience has deeply instilled in me the importance of value-based care - where the focus is on providing the best possible outcomes for patients.

As I've grown in my understanding of healthcare, my desire to make a tangible difference has intensified. I believe in Advocate Health Care's mission to provide compassionate and comprehensive care to all. By running this marathon, I aim to raise funds and awareness for this noble cause. It's a way for me to contribute to a future where healthcare is more about the value provided to each patient, rather than just the volume of services.

I am not just running for my health or for the thrill of the marathon. I am running because I believe in a future where every individual receives the best healthcare, where every patient's wellbeing is the top priority.
