Why I'm Running

On October 11th, 2026, I will be running my first ever marathon! I am running on the Advocate Health Care charity running team along with Nurses I work with. I will be training, fundraising, and ultimately running 26.2 miles to support patients and families in need. As a nurse I get to see everyday how much compassionate and accessible care matters. 

This charity does incredible work funding cancer research, supporting individuals with Down syndrome, and providing specialized care to children and teens with serious heart conditions. As a pediatric cardiac nurse and a sister to someone with Down syndrome, this mission hits especially close to home and is a big part of why I am running this race. I have officially started my marathon training and will continue to work toward my fundraising goal along the way.
