Why I'm Running
My sister inspired me not only to run the Chicago Marathon, but also to raise money for Advocate Health Care. My sister is a podiatric resident at Advocate Christ Medical Center. I've witnessed firsthand the long nights at the hospital, the countless hours she dedicated to medical school, and the exceptional, compassionate care she provides her patients every day. Her passion and commitment reflect the high standard of care Advocate Health provides to its community. In her honor, I'm raising funds to support Advocate's mission and help expand the positive impact it has on the health and well-being of the people it serves.
I've also watched my sister run numerous races in the sun, rain, and early mornings!
So at last - I'm retiring my spectator cowbell and jumping into the race!
On October 11, 2026, I will be representing Advocate Health Care as a member of the charity running team at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of the charity running team, I will be training, fundraising, and ultimately running 26.2 miles to benefit patients and families in need.
Since 2011, the Advocate charity running team has raised over $2 million for Advocate Health Care programs and services. By joining the charity running team, I am part of a diverse group of people who are supporting cancer research, helping children and adults with Down syndrome, giving back to the nurses and physicians who save lives every day and much more.
You too can support Advocate Health Care by contributing to my efforts to fundraise. Your donation of any amount will not only help me achieve my goal, but will also help to ensure that over one million people have access to world-class care close to their home.
