Why I'm Running

On October 11, 2026, I'll be running the Chicago Marathon as part of Advocate Health's Charitable Foundation team- including some nurses from my own unit! I'm training, fundraising, and ultimately running 26.2 miles to support patients and families in need. As a nurse I get to see the direct impact these funds make each shift I work.

This charity supports cancer research, individuals with Down syndrome, and funds specialized care to children and teens with serious heart conditions. As a pediatric cardiac nurse, I have had the privilege of caring for children and their families in their darkest days. After 17 years, I'm still amazed at their strength, resilience, and bravery. Your donation helps support lifesaving care, innovative treatments, family resources, and continued advancements for these children living with congenital heart disease.
