Why I'm Running

Running has become an avenue for a great deal of good things in my life. A while ago I had a series of health issues that started to appear. As a temporary fix I started taking brisk walks as a form of exercise & a way to clear my head from everyday lingering thoughts. I kept going & started to see the benefits / results from walking, then jogging, & now running. A year & a half ago I decided to set a goal for myself & set out to complete a MARATHON. 

So on October 11, 2026, I will be representing Advocate Health Care as a member of the charity running team at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of the charity running team. I am training, fundraising, and ultimately running 26.2 miles to benefit patients and families in need.

By joining the charity running team, I am fundraising to help in supporting cancer research, children and adults with Down syndrome, giving back to the nurses and physicians who save lives every day etc.

Correr se convirtió en una fuente de fortaleza y transformación en mi vida. Después de enfrentar problemas de salud y momentos difíciles, comencé con caminatas para cuidar mi cuerpo y trabajar en mi salud mental. Con perseverancia, esas caminatas se transformaron en carreras paso a paso. Eso me motivo a proponerme una meta que parecía imposible: completar un MARATÓN. 

El 11 de Octubre de este año representaré a Advocate Health Care en el Maratón de Chicago.

Recorreré 26.2 millas o 42.16 kilómetros para apoyar a pacientes, familias y profesionales de la salud.

A través de esta campaña, recaudo fondos para iniciativas como la investigación contra el cáncer, programas para personas con síndrome de Down y recursos para enfermeros y médicos.
