Why I'm Running

On October 11, 2026, I will be representing Advocate Health Care as a member of the charity running team at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of the charity running team, I will be training, fundraising, and ultimately running 26.2 miles to benefit patients and families in need.

I run because it reminds me what I’m capable of. It keeps me grounded, focused, and grateful. This time, I want my miles to mean something more. When I run, I’m reminded how lucky I am to move, to breathe, to be healthy, and it feels right to use that to help others get the care they deserve.

I’ve watched family members navigate medical hardships, and I’ve watched the nurses and doctors who supported them go above and beyond. Running for Team Advocate feels like a way to give back to those who care for our communities every day. 

Team Advocate funds cancer research, supports children and adults with Down syndrome, and gives back to the caregivers who work tirelessly every day. Every step I take matters and every donation matters too. No matter the amount, your support helps ensure people in our community have access to world-class care close to home, and makes my miles mean even more.
