Running for Advocate Health: Supporting Patients, One Mile at a Time
Why I?m Running
On October 11, 2026, I will proudly represent Advocate Health Care as a member of the charity running team at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As part of the team, I will be training, fundraising, and ultimately running 26.2 miles to benefit patients and families in need.
Since 2011, the Advocate charity running team has raised more than $2 million to support Advocate Health Care programs and services. By joining this incredible group, I am part of a diverse community dedicated to supporting cancer research, helping children and adults with Down syndrome, and giving back to the nurses and physicians who save lives every day?and so much more.
I?ve always had a love for running, but after having children, I wasn?t sure if I would ever be able to run again and enjoy it the way I once did. This past May, I decided to give it another try?and the love came back quickly. At first, I had to start by walking, then jogging, until eventually I was able to run without stopping. I?ve always admired those who run marathons, but recently, I?ve started to realize: why not me? My body is strong and capable of running a marathon?and what an incredible accomplishment that would be! I?m not looking to win the race, but simply to finish it?as a mother who truly loves the sport.
You can make a difference, too! By contributing to my fundraising efforts, your donation of any amount will not only help me reach my personal goal, but will also help ensure that more than one million people continue to have access to world-class care close to home. I hope you?ll support me along this journey!
