Why I'm Running
On October 11, 2026, I will be representing Advocate Health Care as a member of the charity running team at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of the charity running team, I will be training, fundraising, and ultimately running my 1st marathon & 26.2 miles to benefit patients and families in need.
We’ve experienced the care of Advocate first hand. In January of last year, my son was airlifted to Advocate Children’s Hospital with a bleed on his brain. As I kissed his head while he was intubated and strapped into the helicopter gurney I have never been more afraid in my life. I simply didn’t know what the future held. Bobby spent a month at Advocate Children’s Hospital where he eventually underwent a successful brain surgery to remove an AVM. We are eternally grateful for the expertise and care of the neurosurgery team, PICU team, nursing staff, child life department and the entire hospital community who took care of Bobby and brought him back home to his siblings.
You too can support Advocate Health Care by contributing to my efforts to fundraise. Your donation of any amount will not only help me achieve my goal, but will also help to ensure that other children who are experiencing hospital stays get the same level of care and attention as Bobby.
