My Chicago Marathon Story
On October 12, 2025, I’ll be running my first Chicago Marathon, proudly representing the cancer research program at Advocate Health Care. This cause is incredibly personal to me because in 2013, my father was diagnosed with colon cancer and received his life-saving cancer treatments at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Thanks to the compassionate, skilled team there, he has been cancer-free since 2014.
Working as an interventional radiology nurse at Advocate Lutheran General, the very hospital where my father was treated, I see every day the courage of patients facing similar battles. When patients ask about what’s ahead, I can share my own family’s story—one of hope and resilience. I know firsthand they’re in the right place, receiving care from a team dedicated to their well-being.
With your help, I’m hoping to raise $1,500 for Advocate's cancer research program. Every dollar will contribute to advancing treatments and improving outcomes for patients in need. My family and I are forever grateful for the treatment and recovery journey my father experienced, and I hope to give back by supporting ongoing research and innovation.
Running has been a huge part of my life since finishing nursing school in 2017, helping me stay mentally resilient and physically strong. I’ve completed two half marathons and one full marathon, and this 26.2 miles will be especially meaningful. Thank you for supporting me, my family, and everyone affected by cancer. Together, let’s make a difference.
