Why I'm Running 26.2 miles
Last year I started a journey to complete my first marathon and decided to raise funds for mental health awareness. With the help of many donors I was able to partake in this unforgiveable journey to cross that finish line and I could not have done it without my donors! I thought about all of you as I went from mile to mile, and finally across that 26.2 finish line! So, I am looking to do it all over again, but I need everyone's help.
On October 12, 2025, I will be representing Advocate Health Care as a member of the charity running team at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of the charity running team, I will be training, fundraising, and ultimately running 26.2 miles to benefit patients and raising awareness for mental health.
I shared my story last year as someone that has come forward with mental health issues myself. I have found last year that training for the marathon helped with my anxiety and depression. Training and setting a goal allowed my to focus on a life changing goal. Running the 2024 Chicago Bank of America Marathon changed my life and I am unbelievably grateful for all the support I received!
Your donation of any amount will not only help me achieve my goal, but will also help to ensure that we end the stigma on mental health disorders!
Sincerely,
Orlando
