Why I'm Running

~On October 13, 2024, I will be representing Advocate Health Care as a member of the charity running team at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of the charity running team, I will be training, fundraising, and ultimately RUNNING 26.2 miles to benefit the hospital that gave my son his life and peace back. The donations will be going to Advocate Children’s Heart Institute where James received his pacemaker at the young age of 12. I am eternally grateful for their care and dedication to children with severe heart conditions, and their continued research in finding new and better ways to give them the lives they deserve.

~The 2024 Chicago Marathon is also my 10-year anniversary of running it in 2014 with cancer for the second time. I was diagnosed 2 short weeks later. I fought and am still here to talk about it, more importantly RUN it again!

As a mother of 4, I am so blessed and very honored to start off 2024 on a RUNNING foot toward the finish line on October 13! For my son, for me, for anyone anywhere who has overcome something they never thought they had the strength for!

James is my IronMan, my 4 children are my strength, and God carries us ALL!
