Why I'm Running
On October 13th, I will be representing Advocate Health, Mental Health Services in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon! I will be training, fundraising, and ultimately running 26.2 miles to benefit patients and families in need.
Recent Mental Health/Suicide data overall.
- The estimated number of adults with serious suicidal thoughts is over 12.3 million.
- Percent of youth with depression who did not receive any mental health treatment: 60.3%
- Number of US Adults with Mental Illness who are Uninsured: 5.5 million
- Percent of youth with private insurance that did not cover mental or emotional problems: 8.1%
- Anxiety disorders are the highest reported mental health issue in the US with 42.5 million Americans claiming to suffer from this illness.
