Genie Foster is a Licensed Barber/Cosmetologist with over 25 years of experience. As the sole proprietor of Genie’s Hair Palace, she is passionate about providing top-quality hair care services. She graduated from Empire Beauty School in Kennesaw, GA, in 2010, but returned to her hometown of Milwaukee, WI, to share her skills and expertise with the community.
In addition to running her business, she has been a dedicated employee of the Milwaukee Public Schools for over a decade. Genie currently serves as a Secretary II managing daily administrative support operations and financial bookkeeping for the district’s College and Career Centers.
Genie is also a student at Milwaukee Area Technical College, pursuing a degree in Human Resource Management. Genie is a proud single mother of four wonderful children and is a new soon to be grandmother to a beautiful granddaughter who is expected to arrive in March of this year. Her life has been a journey, but she is grateful every day for the gift of life and the opportunities she has been given.
Genie is deeply honored to participate in the 2025 SWTS, as cancer has profoundly impacted her life, as well as the lives of her family and friends. In 2005, her cousin Yashica Kuykendall was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Through faith, prayers, and unwavering determination, she is now a proud Cancer Survivor. Sadly, in 2016, Genie’s father, Larry G. Foster, lost his battle with small cell lung cancer (SCLC). Though he has gained his Heavenly wings, his memory lives on in her heart.
Her father’s love for dance and music inspires Genie to honor his legacy by celebrating life and supporting others. Genie will dance not just for herself but for him, as if he’s watching her every step.
