Sharon began her journey with WNOV in 2019 as a gospel announcer and has remained a dedicated and faithful member of the team. WNOV, purchased in 1972 by Courier Communications Corporation with Dr. Jerrel Jones as the majority stakeholder, proudly became the first Black-owned radio station in Wisconsin and one of only 30 in the United States. Fast forward to 2024, and WNOV continues to be Black-owned and operated, upholding its longstanding commitment to Wisconsin’s Black community.
In 2024, Sharon’s exceptional work was recognized when she was honored with the prestigious Radio Announcer of the Year award by the National & Independent Gospel Music Association at the Rhythm Of Gospel Awards Show. Her distinguished career in radio has made significant contributions to the gospel music community.
Beyond the airwaves, Sharon is deeply committed to serving her community. Through her dedicated ministry work, she has supported grieving families at The New Pitts Mortuary and provided compassionate care to veterans at the Clement J. Zablocki Medical Center VA Hospital. Sharon’s unwavering dedication to community service and gospel music has made a lasting impact on countless lives.
Every year, Sharon collaborates with legendary gospel artists at the Soul Stirring Gospel Easter Bash Musical, enriching the community with powerful performances. This event is proudly sponsored by Mrs. Michelle Pitts-Luckett and Mr. Nate Luckett & The New Pitts Mortuary.
Tune in to “Taking You Higher” with “The Gospel Angel” Sharon on Saturdays from 6am-9am and Sundays from 6am to 5pm for an uplifting and inspiring gospel music experience.
My mother and sister and other family members. Their memories live on as a powerful force driving me to make a difference. The losses I've endured fuel my determination to fight against cancer with every fiber of my being. Each step I take, each effort I make is a tribute to their bravery and a vow to prevent others from enduring the same pain. This journey is not just about me; it's a collective effort to honor their legacy and create a brighter, cancer-free future for all. So, it’s an honor to participate for such a good cause.
