On March 22nd, 2017 our world came crashing down when we delivered our baby Matthew Richard Novak at 22 weeks. 


Along with our families, we got to hold him and love him for his little short life and we will always miss him . 


To say we were in shock would be an understatement and we had no clue how to navigate through this tragedy but we didn't have to do it alone . 


Advocate Share Program was there for us the whole process during our stay and now over 6 years later they continue to support us and so many other families.


At Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, Share's mission is to help those who experience a high-risk pregnancy, premature birth, critically ill infant, or the loss of a child due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal death. Share provides personal guidance for the entire family through the immediate crisis period as well as emotional, spiritual, financial such as burial costs and social support in the days and even years after such an event. Share also provides educational opportunities, informational resources, and sensitivity training to staff who are in direct contact with these high-acuity patients. Services provided by Share are not billed to families. The program is entirely funded by donations.
